CHANDELIERS
Chandeliers are very classic pieces that work well in foyers, over the tub in the bathroom, or over large dining room tables. They add style and become part of the home decor. Any decorative piece alike, the right chandelier can make a big difference in the look and feel of a room. There are many types of chandeliers to choose from and your selection will depend on a variety of factors including size, shape, room, colour, design and many other details. Below, we will discuss the types of chandeliers available and some aspects to consider when shopping for chandeliers.
CRYSTAL CHANDELIERS
If you are wondering if crystal chandeliers are out of style, here we can assure you that they are still very much in vogue.
Crystal chandeliers have transformed over time to fit different styles and trends, and still retain their timeless design. Nowadays, they are available in various sizes and forms, ranging from traditional designs with multiple tiers of crystals to modern styles with sleek lines and fewer crystals. Designs with a modern touch offer a variety of colour options, including clear, black, and even crimson shades.
Chandeliers made of crystals give a touch of class to any area of your home. Their captivating shimmer and sophisticated design captivate anyone who lays eyes on them. Installing a single crystal chandelier effortlessly transforms any drab and plain room into an alluring one. It is a must-have accessory for luxury and upscale hotels, dining places, and residential homes.
GLASS CHANDELIERS
Chandeliers with glass shades are a favourite among homeowners because they allow you the freedom to be as fancy or as modest as you want. These charming accents will shine brightly in a foyer, bathroom, kitchen or dining room. Glass chandeliers are also an affordable option compared to crystal chandeliers.
CANDLE CHANDELIERS
Candle chandeliers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Many offer the unique feature of flickering bulbs that imitate candlelight, resulting in an extremely realistic portrayal of burning candles. Classic hanging candelabras like the Stanford 8 Light Candle Brass Chandelier will add an element of character and charm to your home and will look stunning displayed in a foyer or dining room.
CHANDELIER WITH LINEN SHADES
Chandelier shades add an elegant touch to your lighting fixture and are the quickest and the most inexpensive ways to add a dramatic and fresh new element to your room’s decor. They diffuse light creating warm illumination around your room that greatly reduces glare from bare bulbs, while simultaneously adding a touch of class. One of the most popular shaded chandeliers we have is the Stanford 21 Light Brass Chandelier - Shimmer Grey, also comes in 8 light models and black shades. An ultra-extravagant sculpture that is drenched in majestic grandeur. Handmade with love and care by the most skilled artisans using a broad variety of techniques. Also available in polished nickel finish to create a truly glamorous and stylish lighting feature that will stimulate the senses. The Stanford 21 Light Brass Chandelier belongs to Viore Design's renowned collection of timeless lighting fixtures that exude opulence, refinement, and style.
BEADED CHANDELIER
Beaded Chandeliers have unique designs that make them look quirky in modern interiors and also allows them to fit perfectly in eclectic interiors. Hanging a beaded chandelier above the dining table is one of your best options. This allows you to use such a chandelier even in spaces that don’t have high ceilings. In addition, the chandelier will beautify the dining area. Sometimes a beaded chandelier can be a focal point. Like the Beaded Chandelier - Turquoise from Emac & Lawton, the turquoise colour adds a calm yet vibrant feel. Perfect for coastal locations. The colour on the chandelier can be chosen according to the rest of the coloured accents in the room. This way there will be cohesion throughout.
REPLICA CHANDELIERS
A replica is a copy of an original, and is produced in a way to make the design accessible to the general public. That is essentially our goal - Make designer lighting affordable and accessible to everyone. Of course the quality is not the same but given the lower price point, some customers are OK with that. Many others are not OK with replicas and they will buy originals - there will always be a market for original design. We are just here for the customers who cannot afford the originals and would prefer to substitute for a replica.
When shopping for replica lighting, please be aware that not all replica lighting is created equal. We have inspected, trialled, and tested many manufacturers who produce replicas and can say that many fail to create anything close to the original. Most replicas are very bad and cheap copies of the original with shoddy construction, cheap materials and lazy workmanship being their undoing. This results in very fake looking features that will last a few months and will leave you too embarrassed to put in your space.
One of our most popular replica chandeliers is the Replica Jason Miller Modo Chandelier. This ultra cool and stylish designer light will look amazing in almost any environment. Made of high quality aluminium with automobile paint backing and cognac coloured glass. It has a late 1920s American Manhattan apartment block vibe.
Browse our selection, find chandeliers that perfectly suit your aesthetic. Create an inviting, warm, and comfortable place for your family and visitors to enjoy an excellent time dining, telling stories, and other bonding moments.

INDUSTRIAL CHANDELIERS
Industrial design employs the use of exposed wood and metal to that stir up the image of lighting that may have been used in a factory or industrial setting.
CHANDELIER TIERS AND LIGHTS
Another element of chandelier lights is the tiers. Tiers are the layers of lights or sections. They range from 1 tier to 5 tiers. 1 and 2 tiers are the most popular. Contemporary chandeliers also consist of many lights such as 10 light and 15 light chandeliers in a cluster rather than in tiers.

CHANDELIERS BY LIGHTING FUNCTION
Uplight Chandeliers: upwards lighting, providing reflected ambiance around a space, rather than direct downlighting.
Downlight Chandeliers: Ideal when your room needs lots of direct, focused light as well as ambient light.
Ambient Lighting: With the exception of downlight chandeliers, most chandeliers aren’t ideal for providing task lighting–most work much better to create ambient lighting due to their emphasis on diffused, non-direct light.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING THE PERFECT CHANDELIER
1. Positioning of a Chandelier
- Aestheticism
- General light
- Symmetry
2. Installation Height
Consider how height affects style, safety and illumination.
3. Brightness
The ideal lumen counts for ambient lighting in a dining room–or any room–is determined by the space’s square footage. Per 10 square metres , a dining room needs about 250-400 total lumens.
QUICK AND EASY STEPS ON HOW TO CLEAN CHANDELIERS EASILY
Most chandeliers need to be cleaned once or twice a year. Crystal chandeliers should be cleaned when their crystals appear dull. More contemporary designs can be cleaned when the glass or frame starts to look dusty. But you don't need to overthink the process. You can easily clean chandeliers if you plan ahead and follow these simple steps:
Prepare Cleaning Solution: To clean chandeliers with glass or crystal components, create a mixture of one part isopropyl alcohol and four parts distilled water in a spray bottle.
Wipe Down Carefully: Carefully clean each component of the chandelier by gently wiping it with a soft cloth that has been slightly dampened with the cleaning solution. It is recommended to use white gloves or soft, lint-free cloths, especially when cleaning crystal pieces as they are prone to showing fingerprints.
Additional Tips: For cleaning bulbs, use a 1:1 solution of warm water and vinegar. It's also best to use commercial glass cleaner. Always remember to follow manufacturer guidelines and turn off the chandelier before cleaning.
